Anna
Kate Cascio, N.D.
Anna Kate Cascio originally from Virginia, graduated from Kenyon
College in Ohio with a Bachelors Degree in History although a
strong interest in health and wellness led her later to the study
of massage therapy. After being awarded her national certification
and working as a massage therapist for four years, she decided
to further her studies in medicine at the Southwest College of
Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, AZ where she graduated
in 2006.
SCNM offers a four-year professional medicine degree in Naturopathic
Medicine. Graduates are educated in the same basic sciences as
MD's, additional courses include natural therapeutics such as
herbs, nutrients, vitamins and homeopathy as well as other nontoxic
approaches to therapy with an emphasis on disease prevention
and optimizing wellness. The curriculum at SCNM requires the completion
of two years of clinical shifts at the Southwest Naturopathic
Medical Center.
Anna Kate Cascio is a current member of the American
Association of Naturopathic Physicians since 2006.
Naturopathic Healthcare is a distinct healing science and philosophy
that blends traditional natural modalities with current advances
in the study of human health. The fundamental philosophy of naturopathic
therapy leads to the following goals:
- to treat the underlying nature or cause of disease, not simply
treating symptoms
- to support the natural healing power of the patient
- to remove obstacles to the healing process
- to focus on the prevention of disease through education
- using natural methods to support and enhance a patient's
overall health
