Inviting individuals and couples to explore themselves through
insight oriented psychotherapy.
A few thoughts on the process. . .
What is psychotherapy?
Foremost, it is a gift
to ourselves and those around us. In psychotherapy, we
allow ourselves an opportunity to reflect upon what is working
and what is not working in life. By allowing oneself the
time and space to explore our relationships - to others, to the
world, and to ourselves - we undertake a couragous journey. We
enhance our understanding of experiences that influence our behavior. Why
do we respond in a particular way to our friends or sposes or
children or situations? Tracing our current experiences
to those in our early life is instructive.
One may come to psychotherapy (once a week, once a month or
several times a week) with a particular agenda or with the feeling "I
have nothing to say". I have found that most sessions
that begin as the latter actually have a great deal to say (although
saying nothing at all also says a great deal), and that typically
an agenda ends up in unpredictable places.
