Chanley Layton has been practicing both the Rolf method of structural
integration and massage therapy in Brevard for over five years. She
was trained by the Guild for Structural Integration, in the traditional
work of Ida P. Rolf, in Boulder, Colorado.
Structural Integration changes the body's compensations, improves
posture, the body lengthens, allowing the muscles the space to
work and joints the freedom to function. It is a process
of re-education of the body through movement and touch. It
systematically releases patterns of stress and impaired function. The
primary focus of Structural Integration is to facilitate the
relationship between gravity and the human body.
Structural Integration works to lengthen and open the patterns
imprinted in the connective tissue. The thickened, toughened
tissue becomes soft, rehydrated and more pliable, thus allowing
movement and flexibility. It is a step by step process
to work with the whole body. Each session works with a
specific theme that emphasizes exact anatomical goals; an identifiable
layer of connective tissue is addressed and precise structural
objectives are obtained. It can transform your life!
