Foundation for Integrated Healing
The Foundation for Integrated Healing is a project of Congressional
District Programs, Inc - a registered 501(c)3 public charity.
MISSION
The Foundation for Integrated Healing provides education and
services, and conducts applied research in integrated health
care, combining aspects of conventional medicine with complementary
and alternative philosophies. People with chronic illnesses
and others will be offered services that stimulate the inner
healing potential and promote restoration of balance in all
areas of life.
Objectives
Address specific concerns related to disease symptoms including
treatment-induced side effects, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial
stress, and issues involved in improving quality of life from
an integrated perspective.
Assess patients' subjective impressions of the effects of their
chosen modalities on their lives.
Pursue outcomes analysis of this integrative approach and make
this information (adjusted for patient confidentiality) available
to the medical and general public.
Help provide need-based financial assistance to patients pursuing
an integrated approach to their health and healing.
Current opportunities to help our community with tax-deductible
donations
Opportunity #1: A directed donation to decrease the
suffering from ADD/ADHD
According to the Center for Disease Control, approximately
9.5% or 5.4 million children 4-17 years of age have been diagnosed
with ADHD, as of 2007. The prevalence of parent-reported ADHD
diagnosis varied substantially by state, from a low of 5.6%
in Nevada to a high of 15.6% in North Carolina.
Recent studies indicate that ADHD is one of the most costly
health conditions in the US. The annual cost for ADHD is $77
billion topped only by alcohol abuse and clearly ahead of
drug abuse in terms of cost.
Adults who were untreated for childhood ADHD are reported
to have higher divorce rates, higher incidence of alcohol
and drug abuse, more traffic accidents, lower self image and
optimism, and lower levels of satisfaction with all levels
of their lives.
The human and monetary costs of this disorder can be devastating
for individuals, families and communities. In a time when
as a society we are taking too many drugs, even as children,
effective, non-drug approaches to this debilitating problem
commend themselves for consideration. Brainwave Optimization™

abuse related to alcohol abuse
The consequences of the use of tobacco, alcohol and less
socially acceptable drugs cost the citizens of the United
States an estimated $609 billion annually. The human cost
in terms of damage to individuals, relationships, businesses
and communities is equally staggering.
Consider the costs to taxpayers for incarcerating and then
treating an alcoholic spouse abuser, often a repeat offender.
